Kirsten Evans
Born in Providence, Kirsten Evans began studying ballet at the Festival Ballet Providence School at age 11. During her training, she performed as a member of FBP’s Junior Company for 5 years before joining Festival Ballet Providence as a Trainee in 2010. Kirsten has attended summer intensives with Bolshoi Ballet Academy, The Nutmeg Conservatory, and was a member of the Jacob’s Pillow Summer Dance Festival in 2009. She was a two-time finalist in the Youth America Grand Prix in New York City, where she was awarded several scholarships as well as a traineeship with Ballet West in Utah. Kirsten is currently in her 11th season as a company artist with Festival Ballet Providence, where she has performed numerous principal roles in both classical and neoclassical/contemporary works by George Balanchine, Christopher Wheeldon, Viktor Plotnikov, Dominic Walsh, and Ilya Kozadayev, among others. In 2020, Kirsten founded the REVOLVE Dance Project, a collaborative performing arts company that brings together dancers, musicians, and choreographers to create living art for the community during the summer. Kirsten also has a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts/Journalism at Providence College.
