MOVE: The Initiative was founded by longtime friends Rory Freeman and Kaitlyn Salisbury. Together, they envisioned an atmosphere that truly unified dancers. They felt strongly that with such a vision, individual voices of dance could be cultivated on a level unlike any other. After learning the art of dance in a mostly competitive environment, Rory and Kaitlyn found it imperative to facilitate a space with a shifted focus. A space that is ultimately uplifting and empowering for every dancer involved.
The intimate setting allows for dancers to explore and discover their sense of self, while simultaneously being inspired by those around them. This community wouldn’t have a strong foundation without the faculty members chosen meticulously by Rory and Kaitlyn. It is these teachers and mentors that are crucial in establishing a safe, inviting environment in which stepping outside of your comfort zone is full of freedom and void of fear.
MOVE has become much more than a dance intensive. It has become a family. MOVE’s initiative is to create love and light that can be spread beyond the classroom into our local communities. Through the art of dance, MOVE is creating a generation that finds power in the whole, without removing the power of self.

I am so happy that I stumbled upon this intensive on Facebook. It is definitely one of the best that my boys have attended. It was vigorous and pushed them to new limits and yet the attention to personal growth, commitment, and the passion for dance far surpassed our expectations.
